September is Hispanic Heritage Month and to honor our fellow Hispanic history contributors, we share stories with a Latin flair.  Dana tells us the tale of artist Ana Mendieta. Was she murdered or was it an accident? Nydia shares the insane story of Gloria Trevi and Sergio Andrade’s underage sex trafficking scandal. Did she lure them? Did Andrade father their babies?  Cindy tells us about Lola Rodriguez de Tio and Lotita Lebron, two Puerto Rican women that challenged the patriarchy. 

For dinner, she prepared a delicious Cuban Arroz con Gris or Spanish rice with black beans and Pollo fricase or chicken fricasee similar to pollo guisado or chicken stew. For dessert, we had her Tres Leches Cake a sponge cake that has a milk syrup poured over it. Topped with a  very light homemade whipped icing with strawberries and raspberries. Our wine this week was a sangría by Chaddsford Winery if you don't like sweet wines stay away from this sangria. $14
