Latinos and the Future of Tech with Marisa Díaz-Arce
In today's episode, Jeanette speaks to Marisa Díaz Arce, Co -Jefa and Co-Founder of Lolita Productions, LLC which curates events to highlight growing Latinx entrepreneurs. Marisa was a former classroom educator before venturing into entrepreneurship. She is also the Co-Founder & CFO of Dándole Tech, a non-profit organization that provides technology & education for Latinx students across the city of Chicago.
Dándole Tech sought to close the digital divide among Chicago’s most at-risk youth, which was made more apparent when schools across the nation turned to remote learning in March 2020 as a response to pandemic lockdowns. With this mission in mind, and Marisa’s 12 years as an integrated curriculum educator for grades Pre-K through high school, she and her co-founder serve not only as an advocate for students' needs but also for families who have been affected by Covid-19.
Tune in as they chat about:
Marisa's initiatives and experience with Dándole Tech, the current and future state of tech within our communities, its environmental impact, and how Dándole Tech is repurposing technology,
… and more!
