How She Really Does It.

Laugh with ourselves

Listen Later

So many of us are practiced at laughing at ourselves and making fun of ourselves at the cost of the essence of who we are. But laughing at ourselves is not actually fun.

When we make ourselves the butt of the joke, we actually do ourselves a disservice and cause ourselves harm. Some of us are good at packing down the pain, but it still hurts.

Laughing is supposed to be fun, and there is a difference between laughing at ourselves and laughing with ourselves. When we own our story and love ourselves, we can release the uncomfortable feelings and let go of the intense emotions inside of us.

Life is challenging enough, we don't need to make it harder by poking fun at ourselves. My invitation for you is to check in with yourself are you laughing at yourself? Was it really funny or was it at a cost to you?

Tune in this week as I discuss why laughter is supposed to be fun and why it is such a problem to laugh at yourself. I'm showing you how to deal with situations where you might tend to poke fun at yourself, and how to start laughing with yourself instead of at yourself.
