Welcome to season 2 of the Music Gals podcast. For this first episode, we sit down and chat with rising garage rock artist Lauran Hibberd. Lauran's sound encompasses warm fuzzy guitars, lighthearted and funny titles, with strong influences from bands like Weezer.
Lauran is smashing it and has already achieved so much, fulfilling some true music bucket list moments from playing Glastonbury to supporting acts like Hippo Campus and The Regrettes on the European legs of their tours. She recently collaborated with The Regrettes Lydia Knight on her single 'How Am I Still Alive', ahead of her new EP 'Goober' that's out for release on the 30th July. Along with this, she recently released a brand new single 'Bleugh' which packs a punch of fuzzy and powerful guitars, and she also currently has tickets on sale for her 'Goober' tour.
I this episode I chatted to Lauran about her musical processes, specifically during lockdown, and how she has kept inspired, along with chatting about the growth of her stage presence and confidence, and what it's been like to work with artists and producers she looks up to. And a little bit about her sausage dog too. Hope you enjoy the episode and thanks so much for listening.
