 After an anonymous phonecall, her children were taken by the state agency meant to protect them. Years later, Yaneth discovered that four of her children had been illegally adopted abroad, their names and identities changed without her consent.

The nightmare deepened when she learned that one of her sons had been murdered by his adoptive parents in Jordan. Her remaining children, she says, are now trapped in a foreign country, caught in a legal limbo far from home. This episode follows a mother’s fight against silence, power, and loss—and her desperate struggle to bring her children back.

In this episode of LAVOZ Podcast, we uncover a dark chapter in international adoption history. This is the story of the evil lawyer, Dr. Vásquez, from Boyacá, Colombia —

a man who used his position within the child welfare system to steal, kidnap, and forcibly take children from their Colombian mothers, trafficking them abroad, including to Sweden, in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

His name later appears in Swedish government investigations into international adoption.
By 1981, he confessed to facilitating the illegal adoption of hundreds of children, exposing how corruption and weak oversight turned adoption into child trafficking.
