This episode is different, for it is about taxes and how they really work in our lives. For taxes directly affects law enforcement, the courts, the judicial system – for these systems all consume taxes. So how does that money get generated by the taxpayers? What's the difference between using sales vs. property tax to pay for infrastructure costs?
Today we get an overview introduction from Steve Harris, a 27-year veteran of law enforcement. He has been studying how taxes work in our County, for it is different in every city, county, state and across the country. It’s complicated, and it then gets more complex when you look at who receives and uses that money, and who decides how the money gets distributed.
