As Inspector General of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Mr. Missal leads a staff of more than 1,000 lawyers, auditors and others to root out criminal activity, fraud and abuse at the VA. Mr. Missal also chairs the Investigations Committee of the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency and is a member of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee.
Mr. Missal was previously a partner at K&L Gates and senior counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and a juris doctor from the Catholic University of America.
