What a joy it is to do that, Jesus –

to see someone despondent come alive!

Of course, I don’t have the ability to do that on my own.

Seeing the need, we’re tempted to offer false encouragement –

little lies meant to make someone feel better

which only sets them up for a harder fall.

May I never step into that trap!

Help me encourage those around me

with the solid hope only You can give!
