In part one of a three-part series, this episode explores the history behind the laying out of the selection of the location of Lansing Community College's downtown campus and looks at the history of some of the buildings. Content discussed includes the founding of LCC in 1957, the Rogers-Carrier and Herrmann Houses, as well as the Community College Act of 1966, the construction of the Arts & Sciences Building and downtown redevelopment efforts along with urban renewal in the 1960s.
