🔥 One of the hardest things to do as a leader is to drive sustainable change in any organisation. Because if it goes wrong, you're screwed up. It needs to be a mix of Top-Down and Bottom-Up approach to handle change.
✨ According to Melanie Smith, any long-term positive change will require leadership and sponsorship from the top. But, you can't be sitting behind closed rooms and coming up with a strategy without consulting your staff. That's not going to work and it will fall off sooner rather than later.
❓ One of the biggest reasons why change doesn't stick in organisations is when organisations fail to answer this question: "What are the behaviours we have currently that we need to shift/ change?"
It is not difficult to just put a new strategy, a new structure and new ways of working in place. What is harder is to address the transition of:
👉 Where we are Vs Where we need to be
👉 How do the new ways of working look like?
👉 How do the new behaviours look like?
👉 Which parts of our culture do we need to shift and change intentionally?
