This week Nate Berkey looks at 1 Timothy 3. It is a complex passage that builds off of the second chapters teachings on women. This time concerning leadership. We dive deep into the literary and historical context of the passage and ask the key question: Is this passage culturally bound or God’s ultimate design? We conclude that this passage is culturally bound and then explore, in light of that conclusion, what it looks for all people who are called to lead, to lead out of God’s broader narrative in scripture.
