I Samuel 10:1-7
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.
The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts…
Leadership Transition:
After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.
What advantage is it to your faith when God doesn’t spare us suffering and pain?
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
The reason Jesus emphasized where to build your house was because getting right with God doesn’t stop the storms.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ…
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.
I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
It is amazing how the preaching of the simple gospel and the truth of it is always accompanied by the witness and effect of the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you and you will prophesy with them and be changed into another man. And let it be when these signs come to you that you do as the occasion demands, for God is with you.
