Welcome to another educational podcast from the Young Professionals in Transplantation. This podcast is the first in a three-part series on leadership. In this episode, we discuss the significance of leadership in healthcare settings, including the various styles and domains of leadership, as well as the importance of adaptive and compassionate leadership. 

Our guest today is Dr. Peter Gogalniceanu, a consultant transplant surgeon at Guy’s Hospital in London. His academic research centers on healthcare risk management, business continuity, and crisis leadership. His latest work examines the impact of armed conflict on civilian medical organisations.

He holds a PhD in healthcare systems design from King’s College London and is a graduate of Harvard Medical School’s Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership Program. He has held several educational leadership roles at UCL, King’s College London, and Harvard Medical School. He also leads the Executive Fellowship in Surgical Leadership at King’s Health Partners.
