When the tragedies visited me in the last couple of weeks, I found myself really knocked down. The answers that I thought I had, suddenly disappeared. I found myself lacking the courage that I had been religiously talking about encouraging fellow human beings to have. When tragedies struck, I wanted to switch off every form of communication and just be with myself. I forgot what I had just said to my fellow human beings a few days before. I forgot all the positive feedback and messages of encouragement that I had received from those that had read my messages of encouragement.

Last week I shared 7 leadership principles and lessons that I learned from my mother’s life. These principles are courage, faith, selfless service, unconditional love, forgiveness, community, and humility. I encourage you to revisit the previous episode to gain more insight into these noble leadership principles. Today I reflect on the drivers of the leadership principles that I observed from my mother’s life. As you think and reflect on leadership in your field, I challenge you to reflect on the seven leadership principles as well as the nine qualities of selfless service-oriented leaders that I have shared. Internalize these principles and qualities, use them to develop as a leader, and share them with those, whose leadership you wish to see grow and flourish.

I learned many leadership principles and lessons from my mother's life. I am today because my mother was. 

It is with heavy heart and sadness that I host this episode, today, the 29th of August 2020. It is exactly two weeks since I received the most devastating and sad news of my mother's passing. May her soul rest in peace and rise in eternity. This is a special episode in which I share the seven leadership principles and lessons that I learned from my mother's life. I hope these leadership principles will add to your leadership development and journey. I hope through them you can become a better and a servant leader. 

I will protect, honour, and keep my mother's legacy alive.
