He is an author, consultant and former mayor of Augusta, Georgia.

Born in Montreal, Deke Copenhaver moved to Augusta, Georgia at the age of four. He currently serves as Principal of Copenhaver Consulting with clients in the business, economic development, and nonprofit sectors.

From 2005 through 2014 he was elected three times to serve as mayor of Augusta. Following his time in office, he hosted "There it is…with Deke Copenhaver" a popular local call-in radio show.

Deke has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the "100 Most Influential Georgians" on multiple occasions.
