Kate Barnett, aside from being my wife, is an incredible wife, mother, and teacher. Kate has many great stories and perspectives. Two years into our marriage and just eleven months after having our first son, Kate’s mother passed away. Now with our young son and still newly married, I deployed once again. Being a new wife and mother can be challenging enough but is compounded when you can no longer ask your mom for advice. Kate is the epitome of resilience and the “brave face.” I am blessed to have her in my life, and I hope you enjoy her story.
