You need to wade through the doctrinal debates. Here is why. Christians who have not even studied opposing views often have strong dogmatic opinions. They often aren’t even aware they other interpretations exist on the passages that they base their theology on. Christians hold such strong opinions on tithe law, on the gift of tongues, on calvinism, on the modern state of Israel, on women pastors, on the end times, on the rapture, on the antichrist, on the nature of hell. The list goes on and on. As someone who had to change my views on multiple different beliefs, I now recognize that christians who haven’t studied the opposing views have not earned their insistence that they are correct. You are absolutely wrong about something. The sad part is you will never find out if you never study the scriptures deeply.
