Wombats have been known to seek out koalas who have been in danger of bushfires and bring them deep into their burrows to protect them and keep them from harm. Ecologists now believe that they can protect koalas with solar panel tags. They will use the tags to identify the animals and keep them safe from bushfires. The solar panel tags act as tracking devices for the animals.
