Learn English Through Football Podcast: 2018-19 Week 7 – West Ham v Chelsea

DF: You are listening to languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Welcome everyone to the podcast for all those interested in improving their English skills and who love the beautiful game of football. My name is Damian and I’m here in London and first up apologies for the delay in the podcast’s appearance this week – we had some trouble when uploading the podcast on Sunday afternoon. Apologies also for the fact that Damon will not be with us on the show this time round but he’ll back in our next podcast. Now, as our regular listeners will know, he’s based in Tokyo and he was no doubt very happy indeed after three wins last week for his favourite team Liverpool, including one in the Champions League against PSG to kickstart their European campaign.

One of the other wins came, of course, in the languagecaster derby at Wembley which was the start of a bad week for my favourite team Spurs as they also lost to two late goals against Inter Milan in the Champions League. I did, however, go and see Málaga win 3-0 last week in the Spanish second division – it was great watching the boquerones once again. They won their first five matches this season and are top of the table – the same as Liverpool in the Premier League!
