Our guest this episode was a high school teacher, coaching the junior varsity football team when he successfully tried out for the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League as a wide receiver. His performance with the Bell earned him a meeting in 1976 with coach Dick Vermeil of the Philadelphia Eagles. Against all odds, he eventually made the team, thereby becoming, at age 30, the oldest rookie in the history of the NFL to play without having played in college. He played three seasons with the Eagles. And his story was the inspiration behind the 2006 film Invincible. Welcome Vince Papale.
