My brother Michael visited me last weekend. He works as a cook on a passenger ship and has never really been in the mountains before. He told me that he wanted to know what I found here in Switzerland that made me stay for so long (besides my ex girlfriend of course). So, I showed it to him... This is a good opportunity to talk about "family words", so I will teach you words like Vater and Mutter. On the pictures on the homepage you can see us starting by having fun on the long sledge trail on the way up mount Pilatus next to Lucerne. The second pictures shows Michael at our first rest. We were there together with Edith and Michael told us "das habe ich mir irgendwie anders vorgestellt". Less exhausting, I suppose. It had rained for several days and we had Hochnebel (high fog) and climbed for three hours with a visibility of no more than 20 to 30 meters. Then we broke through the fog and the view was magnificent. I simply can't describe how magic that moment is. How special the atmosphere is in the zone where the fog stops, when you can see for a moment and then everything disappears again. Finally we reached the top of mount Pilatus (7000 feet) and made a lunch break. We even got a sunburn there. The last picture shows the view from top, looking at the Swiss Alps. Interested in the marathon in Lucerne (28.10.2007)?
