It's said that in Australia alone, we use 10 million new plastic bags every day. It is estimated that around 50 million bags enter the Australian litter stream every year. Unless they are collected, they remain in the environment and accumulate at a staggering rate.
Thousands of marine mammals and seabirds die every year around the world as a result of plastic litter. Join Nadia Zahr and find out why the plastic bag ban is spreading in Australia and abroad as we speak with Greenpeace’s plastics campaigner, Samantha Wockner on Community Connect.
