Jesus is out for a walk with his disciples (pretty much, that is his whole ministry pattern). A gentile, a Canaanite woman, calls to him for help. He doesn’t respond. She keeps calling. His disciples ask him to respond. He does. As we continue to learn from the Jesus stories in Matthew’s gospel, we’ll look at what this story can teach us. Does Jesus not care for this woman calling out to him? What might be the reason Matthew included this story?
