If you're willing to do the work yourself, to do the leg work, take some risk, spend your time...you can Learn by yourself.

But if you want to have it all curated for you and to de-risk the process, then you can opt for Education. 

But that can be expensive.

Of course, you also get other benefits with Education, especially if you spend the big money for an Ivy League education.

At that point, you're getting the brand equity of the institution and, even more importantly, the contacts and connections of your cohort.

Of course, it's also all relative to your ambitions.
