Do you find yourself fretting about those things or not being able to sleep if items are out of place? While with some individuals this is simply normal behavior, in others, it could be a symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder, or OCD for short.
Today, OCD affects one in 50 Americans. The obsessive thoughts and compulsions relating to this disorder impact approximately four million people in the USA alone. It can afflict anyone regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic status. Even Hollywood stars have admitted to suffering from this disorder. While serious, and even grave if ignored, it is treatable.
Written with first hand knowledge, Learning to Live with OCD and Anxiety explains what OCD is, the symptoms that manifest within each of the different types, and the various treatments available. All while debunking the various myths surrounding the disorder.

Chances are that you know someone who suffers from OCD. The signs and symptoms may be so subtle that you aren't aware of them. However, the person who lives with OCD is constantly struggling to appear normal. This in turn causes them anxiety.
OCD is a mental disease which cannot be detected by the usual tests or scans. It requires specialized treatment by a qualified professional. Those persons with OCD and anxiety need your support and understanding.

Very informative
This is an excellent, very well written, book about struggling with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and anxiety. The book does a great job explaining the various types of obsessions and compulsions, including the signs and symptoms. Causes and anxiety are also explained as well as related disorders, myths, facts and risk factors. Living with OCD including medical treatment and self-treatment and care are also included.
A must read - excellent facts!!!!
Excellent book about OCD and Anxiety, of which I myself suffer from both. This very informative book has lots of facts for those living with these conditions as well as possible loved ones battling these conditions. It is a very hard disease to fight and although many Doctors visits help it still does not cure a person there is always that need to repeat and repeat.
