So why is saying no so hard? Part of the reason may be that we don't want to cause any offense to those we need to say no to. We worry about upsetting them, or even ourselves, when we turn down requests. We often feel guilty for not doing what we're asked or wanted to do.
However, saying no is acceptable and it can be done in a polite and respectful way. It helps you set boundaries and maintain your mental and emotional health. It also helps you make decisions based on what's best for you, instead of giving into peer pressure or feeling obligated to do something you don't want to.
