Simon Peter in Luke 5 asks Jesus to 'leave me to myself.' This is his request after Jesus ordered him and other fishermen to put their boats back into the water and to recast their nets. These men had just finished a hard day of work and had nothing to show for it.
They begrudgingly put their boats back into the water and recast their nets. To their surprise, the nets were filled to bursting and they needed two boats to bring in all that they had caught. This let Simon Peter know that Jesus was real. It was then that decided that he was not worthy to be in the company of the Christ.
We too are like that. We want to be left alone. We have too much to offer with and through our calling and must not be left to ourselves.
God bless,
