The third event of this year's American Pictures series at the Smithsonian featured cultural historian David Hackett Fischer speaking on Emmanuel Leutze's iconic painting, "Washington Crossing the Delaware." After the talk, Fischer signed copies of his book Washington's Crossing, winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in History.
