In this episode, we take a thoughtful look through Stef, at a person’s dealing with bullying as a child, and the long term effects on self confidence years later as an adult.
This discussion takes us from the childhood thoughts of feeling rejected, or “defective” as she puts it, because she was a geek (she loved Star Trek and became a lifelong fanatic)... to realizing at the age of 50 in Orlando’s Disney World Star Trek exhibit that indeed, she was not defective, but she is a geek.
Her family has also dealt with their daughter’s cancer (now recovered and in college). Happily a geek and in knowing she cares little for what others think of her, Stef now uses her life to help others.
Join us on this brief somber but positive journey with someone who has learned to accept not only life, but herself.
