The podcast currently has 21 episodes available.
In this episode, we discuss the evolution of the West Riding Asylum network and the wider forces at play in the country's development of mental health care. This is a subject I encourage much further reading on as I've barely been able to skim the surface in my usual episode timeframe.
In this episode we take a look at the Battle of Holbeck Moor, where Leeds sent a clear message to fascism.
In this special short episode, we tell the story of one single night at the long defunct Kirkstall Power Station.
In this episode we take a look at a single document in isolation and explore the power a single document can have when combined with historical context.
This episode will also be featured as part of Leeds Libraries "Breaking the News" exhibit.
In this special opening episode of series 4 we take an in-depth look at just one single street in the city centre with the help of East St Arts, Leeds City Council and Historic England.
Leeds Echoes "Walk Through Time" is a special 4 part series of my podcast that’s been supported by Leeds Civic Trust and Heritage Open Days. It represents my first real attempt at creating these episodes whilst really thinking about someone listening on location. They’re my attempt at a more accessible walking tour. Take them at your own pace. Listen on location in any way that’s accessible to you. I’ve focused on 4 areas that represent a couple of intersecting things - places both I and others have sought solace during lockdowns, places newcomers to Leeds often experience first and places that younger people might most associate with. At any rate, I hope you enjoy them.
