Today is our very special 8 Year Anniversary Episode. The Left of Str8 Show launched on July 2, 2015, one week after Marriage Equality was deemed legal by the Supreme Court. My very first guests on that show was Ben Patrick Johnson, an LGBTQ Advocate, Author, Entertainment Host and Voiceover Actor, and one of the plaintiffs in the Supreme Court case that granted Marriage Equality and a wonderful musician, Kelly McCracken. We went LIVE on Insight Radio Network in Youngstown, Ohio and distributed to iTunes for the first month. We quickly went to Blog Talk Radio and did 5 seasons of audio only podcasting available on all the main podcast distributors.
For the 8 Year Anniversary, eight years and one day after that first show, I am bringing back my original guests, Ben and Kelly to catch up and remember those good ol' days gone by. Ben has had some struggles with his health and addiction, but is recovering and sharp as ever and building his career back strong and sure. Kelly's daughter Ruby, who was the cruz of her part of the Marriage Equality landmark case, just turned 9 years old and Kelly is still playing music.
