Hebrews 10:10-23

We’ve made obstacles (at best) and idols (at worst) of middle men in our relationship with Christ. 

Jesus came to eliminate and eventually to replace the middle man. He tore the veil in the temple that “held” His presence back from the people. Now, anyone can go to the Father through Jesus.

"Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have." Genesis 15:5

Guest speaker Pastor John C. Martin delivers a word on the short prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. Jabez's prayer is for impact, influence and presence. 

The people of Israel begged God for a king, so God made Saul a king in 7 days. But because it happened so fast, Saul never was able to reach his full potential.

1. Prayer and fasting is about us hearing God AND God hearing us.

2. Prayer and fasting doesn't make you better than others, it makes it better than you.

3. Prayer and fasting allows us to do more in the spirit because we devote time, attention and spiritual activity to seeking His will and His outcome to our problems.
