  • 12 | Apostles, Prophets, & Teachers, Oh My

What are apostles, prophets, and teachers, and why did Christ give them to His Church?

In this episode of Legacy Discussions, Pastor Adam explores the ministry gifts Christ has given to His Church, focusing on apostles, prophets, and teachers and their purpose in building up the body of Christ.

From Ephesians 4 and 1 Corinthians 12, we see that these roles are not about status or recognition. They are gifts given to equip the saints, strengthen the Church, and help believers grow into the fullness of Christ.

We look at the lives and ministries of Paul, Barnabas, and the early apostles, while also considering the humility, sacrifice, service, and perseverance that marked their calling. Ultimately, these ministries point us back to Jesus, the true Apostle, Shepherd, and Teacher, who leads His people and builds His Church.

Listen in as we explore apostles, prophets, teachers, spiritual gifts, leadership, sacrifice, and what it means for every part of the body of Christ to faithfully serve and grow together in Him.

  • 11 | The Truth Shall Set You Free

What does it mean to know the truth, and why does Jesus say that truth will set us free?

In this episode of Legacy Discussions, Pastor Adam shares a message on “And The Truth Shall Set You Free,”exploring Jesus’ words in John 8 and His invitation to abide in His Word, know the truth, and experience true freedom.

Scripture reminds us that truth is not simply an idea to understand. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. As we abide in Him, the Spirit of truth leads us, teaches us, transforms us, and points us back to Christ.

We also consider the danger of exchanging truth for lies and the importance of testing what we hear against the truth of Christ. True freedom is not found in believing whatever we want, but in knowing Jesus and allowing His truth to shape the way we live.

Listen in as we explore truth, freedom, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, spiritual discernment, and what it means to abide in Christ and walk in the freedom He gives.

  • 10 | How To Handle The Scriptures: Part 2

How did Christians throughout history learn to interpret the Scriptures?

In week two of How to Handle the Scriptures, Pastor Adam takes us on a journey through the history of hermeneutics, exploring the different approaches Christians have taken to understanding and interpreting the Bible.

From the Alexandrian and Antiochene schools of thought, through the Medieval period and the Reformation, we examine how different traditions have shaped the way Scripture has been read and understood.

As we trace this history, we move toward Prima Scriptura, considering it as a balanced approach to revelation that gives Scripture its central place while recognizing the broader ways God reveals Himself.

Listen in as we explore the history of biblical interpretation and consider how understanding where we have come from can help us handle the Scriptures faithfully today.

  • 9 | There Is Always More

What if the life Jesus promised us is deeper than we’ve experienced so far?

In this episode of Legacy Discussions, Pastor Adam shares a message on “There Is Always More,” exploring Jesus’ promise that those who believe in Him would have rivers of living water flowing from within them—the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Throughout Scripture, water becomes a powerful picture of the life and presence of God. From the depths of creation to the river flowing from the temple in Ezekiel, from the tree planted beside streams of water to the river of life in Revelation, we see a God who brings life wherever His presence flows. Jesus takes that imagery and points us directly to the Spirit, inviting those who thirst to come to Him and drink.

We explore what it means to move beyond simply knowing about the Holy Spirit and to live in the fullness of what God has promised. From Pentecost and the repeated filling of the Spirit in Acts to the Spirit's work in empowering, guiding, revealing, transforming, and bearing witness through God's people, Scripture shows us that there is always a deeper invitation to receive from God.

The Christian life is not meant to be stagnant. Like Ezekiel's river, the invitation is to go deeper—from ankle-deep, to knee-deep, to waist-deep, until the waters become something we cannot cross on our own.

And the deeper the river flows, the more life it produces.

As followers of Jesus, we are invited not merely to survive, but to be filled, led, empowered, and continually renewed by the Spirit who dwells within us.

Listen in as we explore the Holy Spirit, living water, spiritual depth, Pentecost, spiritual gifts, God's promises, and what it means to discover that there is always more of God to experience and more life to receive through His Spirit.

  • 8 | How To Handle The Scriptures: Part 1

What does it mean to truly see Christ in the Scriptures?

In this teaching from our midweek series, How to Handle the Scriptures, Pastor Adam explores what it means to approach the Bible as a way and lens through which we find Jesus.

This week, we took a closer look at the biblical meaning of “the Word of God” and why Scripture ultimately points us beyond the written text to a person: Jesus Christ, the living Word.

Listen in as we explore how Christ shapes the way we read, understand, and handle the Scriptures, and what it means to allow the whole story of Scripture to lead us to Him.

  • 7 | The Paraclete

What does it mean that Jesus promised we would never be left alone?

In this episode of Legacy Discussions, Pastor Adam shares a message on “The Paraclete,” exploring Jesus’ promise in John 14–16 that the Holy Spirit would come as our Helper—the One who comes alongside us, remains with us, teaches us, strengthens us, and leads us into truth.

Throughout Scripture, we see God described as our refuge, strength, help, and shield. From the everlasting arms of Deuteronomy to the promise of the Holy Spirit in John, God reveals Himself as the One who meets His people in trouble and gives them what they need to walk faithfully.

Jesus tells His disciples that His departure would not mean abandonment. Instead, He promises that another Helper would come—not simply to assist from a distance, but to dwell within His people. The Spirit teaches us, reminds us of Jesus’ words, reveals the wisdom of God, bears witness to Christ, convicts the world, and empowers us to live and testify as His people.

We also consider what it means to live by the Spirit rather than relying on human strength or wisdom. As Zechariah reminds us, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.”

As followers of Jesus, we are not called to navigate life, opposition, uncertainty, or spiritual growth on our own. The Spirit of God has been given to us as our Helper, and His presence reminds us that we are never abandoned.

Listen in as we explore the Holy Spirit, God's presence, spiritual wisdom, strength, conviction, witness, and what it means to depend on the Spirit rather than our own might or power.

  • 6 | The Shadow of His Wings

What does it mean to live under the shadow of His wings?

In this episode of Legacy Discussions, Pastor Adam shares a message on “The Shadow of His Wings,” tracing the presence and work of the Spirit of God throughout Scripture—from the opening moments of creation to the ministry of Jesus.

We see the Spirit hovering over the waters, God caring for His people like an eagle over its young, and His Spirit resting upon ordinary people to give them wisdom, courage, strength, leadership, and power for the work He had called them to do. From Bezalel and Joshua to Gideon, Samson, David, Ezekiel, and others, Scripture reveals a God who not only calls His people but empowers them by His Spirit.

And then we come to Jesus—the beloved Son upon whom the Spirit descends and rests.

These passages invite us to see the Holy Spirit not simply as a source of power, but as the presence of God who covers, leads, equips, strengthens, and works within His people.

Listen in as we explore the presence of the Spirit, God's protection, spiritual empowerment, calling, and what it means to live under the shadow of His wings while allowing God to work in us for His good pleasure.

  • 5 | In The Beginning

Before there was anything else, there was God.

In this message, “In The Beginning,” Pastor Adam takes us on a journey through Scripture to discover something profound about the presence and work of the Spirit of God—from the opening pages of Genesis to the throne room of Revelation.

The Spirit was there in the beginning, hovering over the waters. He is the breath that gives life, the One who creates and renews, the Spirit who brings freedom and transforms us from one degree of glory to another.

And as Scripture unfolds, we see the story pointing us toward Christ; the Word who was with God in the beginning, through whom all things were made, and in whom is life and light that darkness cannot overcome.

But the Spirit who was present at creation is not distant from us today. He is still bringing life, renewal, wisdom, freedom, and transformation to His people. And we are called to walk with Him in a way that builds up the church, reflects the character of Christ, and brings glory to God.

Listen in as we explore creation, the Spirit of God, the Word, spiritual gifts, renewal, and the life-giving presence of God, and consider what it means to live as people shaped by the God who was there in the beginning.

  • 4 | Awestruck & Astonished

What happens when we stop simply admiring Jesus’ words and start building our lives on them?

In this message, “Awestruck & Astonished,” we come to the conclusion of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, where the crowds are left astonished by His teaching because He speaks with an authority unlike any teacher they had heard before.

But Jesus doesn’t simply call us to be amazed by what He says—He calls us to hear His words and do them.

Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us a radically different way to live: becoming poor in spirit, hungering for righteousness, loving our enemies, pursuing reconciliation, guarding our hearts, praying and fasting without seeking attention, trusting God instead of living in anxiety, treating others as we want to be treated, and walking the narrow path of obedience.

The question isn’t simply, “Are we impressed by Jesus?” The deeper question is, “Are we willing to obey Him?”

A house built on the rock isn’t preserved because the storms never come. It stands because of what it was built upon.

Listen in as we explore Jesus’ authority, the narrow path, obedience, humility, and what it means to build our lives on the words of Christ.

  • 3 | Christ Goes With The Departed

What does it really mean to belong to Christ?

In this message, “Christ Goes With the Departed,” Nick Kim takes a sobering look at Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7: not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven.

We can do impressive things in Jesus’ name—prophesy, cast out demons, perform mighty works—and yet still miss what matters most: knowing Christ and living in obedience to Him.

Through Scripture, we explore the connection between spiritual gifts, love, holiness, and genuine faith. Paul reminds us that even the greatest spiritual manifestations amount to nothing without love, while Christ calls us to abide in Him and bear fruit that reflects His character.

This is more than a message about what we do for Jesus. It is an invitation to examine whether we truly know Jesus, walk with Jesus, and allow His life to be evident in ours.

Listen in as we explore true discipleship, spiritual gifts, love, holiness, and what it means to genuinely belong to Christ.
