Despite the fact that all of BC's political parties support legalizing ridesharing, the province is still without a legal framework for ridesharing. Without any legal framework, ridesharing companies like Uber and Lyft are unable to operate in BC. David Clement, Toronto based North American Affairs Manager of the Consumer Choice Center (CCC), said that "the foot dragging on ridesharing from BC's government does nothing but hurt consumer choice and put public safety at risk"
