We're blowing into the cartridge and pressing start on the second-biggest movie of 2023 to date! Based on several long-running video games series from Nintendo, this animated movie brings together the voice talents of Chris Pratt and Charlie Day the titular brothers, with Anya-Taylor Joy as the princess, Seth Rogan and Keegan-Michael Key as their allies, and Jack Black as the bad guy. Produced by Illumination, the studio behind the Despicable Me and Minions movies, the film super-smashed box office records to become the highest-grossing video game movie and the third highest-grossing animated movie of all time. While audiences clearly felt the Nintendo Power, critics were largely underwhelmed, citing the film as yet another rote exercise in brand expansion. Now your very own Super Podcast Bros.
