The United States Constitution is a document that grants our federal government limited, delegated powers. The government cannot act beyond those granted authorities. When it does, it intrudes on authority that was explicitly and importantly left to the States and to the people. Today's Congress regularly legislates on issues for which it has not proper authority and all too often, society is willing to sit back and allow this power grab - despite the risks to the republic it poses - because too many of us have been convinced all problems have a federal, monetary solution.
