LEHI BUZZ: YOUR MONDAY MORNING UPDATE

Greetings, Lehi residents! As we start our week on this fine Monday morning of May 12, 2025, here's what's happening in our community.

Over at Good News Lutheran Church, the congregation celebrated with a special audio devotion titled "Because He Lives We Live in Love," bringing spiritual comfort to members as they begin their week.

Looking back at recent events, Lehi High School experienced some excitement last Thursday when the school was placed under lockdown after a parking lot attendant spotted a handgun in a student's car around noon. Police responded promptly, and after locating the vehicle and firearm, determined there was no ongoing threat. As a precautionary measure, students were released early that day[1][2][4].

In nearby Provo, 90-year-old Henry Miles received a heartwarming surprise birthday celebration yesterday on his favorite hiking trail after completing more than 4,000 hikes throughout his lifetime. Community members gathered to honor this inspiring local resident[5].

Also making headlines in our state, a documentary about rural quilters created by a filmmaker from Sanpete County has been nominated for an Emmy award. The film highlights rural life in the Western United States through the stories of quilters[5].

Unfortunately, we're still awaiting today's weather forecast, pollen count, and air quality reports for Lehi. For those planning outdoor activities, checking local weather services is recommended before heading out.

In other regional news, a motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash in Kaysville on Saturday and was airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital[5].

On the political front, Senator Mike Lee is working to establish a national definition of obscenity to strengthen enforcement capabilities[5].

As we move into the new week, stay tuned for updates on local sports scores and community events. Whether you're heading to work, school, or enjoying a day off, make it a great Monday, Lehi!
