LEHI BUZZ: YOUR WEEKEND UPDATE
Exciting times in Lehi as summer festivities kick into high gear! Yesterday, the US Postal Service announced a major change coming to our growing community. Starting July 1, a new ZIP code (84048) will be implemented to accommodate Lehi's rapid expansion. While mail with either the old or new code will be delivered for a year, residents are encouraged to begin using the new ZIP code starting this month[3].
The Lehi Round-Up celebration continues this weekend with multiple family-friendly events. Tonight's festivities include a 3-on-3 Basketball tournament at the Lehi Legacy Center starting at 5 p.m. Registration opens at 4 p.m. and costs $20 per team, though spectators can enjoy for free. Later, bring your blankets to Family Park Amphitheater for an outdoor screening of "UP" beginning at 9 p.m[1].
Looking ahead to next week, the PRCA Rodeo kicks off at the Lehi Rodeo Grounds on June 25th with tickets available for $16. The rodeo continues through June 27th with special pricing for Family Night on Thursday, where children 12 and under pay just $8[1].
In more somber news, our community continues to recover following a tragic accident last weekend. A 14-year-old girl suffered significant head trauma after being struck by a vehicle near the Lehi Rodeo Grounds on May 30th as she was leaving a youth dance. The teen was eventually flown to a Salt Lake City hospital. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Local residents noted that speeding is common on 500 West despite police presence[5].
For those looking for additional entertainment, "American Fork's Got Talent" is currently accepting registrations for performers[2].
Remember to stay hydrated as summer temperatures continue to rise across Utah Valley. And if you're affected by the ZIP code change, now's a good time to begin updating your information with friends, family, and businesses.
Enjoy your weekend, Lehi residents! More community updates coming soon.
