Lehi in Bloom: Tulip Festival, Sports Triumph, and Community Pride in the Spring Sunshine

Listen Later

Lehi is buzzing with activity this first week of May, and it’s hard to beat the energy sweeping through town. Sunshine greeted early risers today, with clear skies and a high expected in the upper 60s. A light breeze kept the air fresh, and locals were grateful that the pollen count dipped slightly after yesterday’s winds—good news for allergy sufferers preparing for weekend plans.

Sports fans have plenty to cheer for. The Skyridge boys soccer team continued their strong push, securing a 5-1 record in Region 3 since spring break and keeping local hopes high for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Lehi boys soccer squad has faced tough competition, currently standing at 1-4 in Region 3 after a heartbreaker in overtime against Pleasant Grove, ending 4-3. Even so, spirits remain high as four Lehi High School seniors celebrated signing to continue their athletic careers at the next level, drawing applause from classmates and proud families alike.

Lehi’s favorite spring highlight is in full bloom: the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point runs through May 17, turning gardens into a sea of color and drawing visitors from across the region. It’s the perfect way to embrace spring, with photo ops and food trucks ready for families this weekend.

On the community front, the Lehi Police Department recently received accolades from the Utah Chiefs of Police Association for outstanding leadership, and the city’s K-9 unit continues to show its prowess, earning recognition at national trials.

While state leaders’ schedules haven’t included public visits in Lehi over the last 24 hours, the city remains in the spotlight. The attention on technology and business is ever-present, with high-profile visits to local companies earlier in the week.

Air quality remained good, bolstered by a gentle breeze and low emissions—a welcome relief after last week’s inversion. Locals can look forward to another clear evening, perfect for outdoor dining or a stroll through Lehi’s parks.

With the weekend approaching and festival season in full swing, Lehi is the place to be—where school pride, community spirit, and spring sunshine combine for an unforgettable start to May[2][5][1].
