Listen Later

Lehi is buzzing with excitement this weekend as springtime events, sports, and Easter celebrations take center stage. Early risers in town today had a brisk start, with temperatures hovering in the upper 40s and skies clear enough for a perfect sunrise. The South Mountain Half Marathon kicked off bright and early at 6:30 am at Olympic Park, drawing runners from across the region for a scenic race through Lehi’s foothills.

For families, Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is hosting the annual Lehi Easter Eggstravaganza from 11 am to 1 pm. Kids and adults alike can pick an Easter egg in-store, each holding a special prize, creating a festive atmosphere as residents kick off the holiday weekend. Supplies are limited, so early arrival is recommended for this beloved local tradition.

In local sports, the spotlight shines on Lehi High School’s spring teams. The Pioneers varsity baseball clinched a narrow 6-5 win against their rivals from American Fork, with a late-game double sealing the deal in the bottom of the seventh inning. The girls’ softball team also celebrated a big win, topping Riverton 8-4 thanks to stellar pitching and a three-run homer in the fifth.

Pollen counts remain moderate as junipers and maples bloom, but many allergy sufferers are feeling the effects. The air quality is rated as good, with no weather advisories in effect and a gentle breeze helping to keep allergens moving. Weather forecasts predict a high in the upper 60s this afternoon with plenty of sunshine—ideal conditions for anyone heading outside to run, hunt eggs, or cheer on their favorite team.

There’s also a new Easter tradition catching on in Lehi. The Letters to Jesus event, featured in the Lehi Free Press, has inspired families to write heartfelt notes and reflections as part of their holiday observance. Residents are finding it a meaningful way to connect and celebrate the season.

With plenty to do, sunshine in abundance, and good cheer all around, Lehi is the place to be this weekend. Whether you’re racing, hunting for eggs, or simply enjoying time outdoors, the city is alive with energy and community spirit.
