October 9th, Leif Erikson Day - a day to honor the Norse explorer often credited with being the first European to reach North America, well before Columbus. Venturing from Greenland to what is now Newfoundland, Canada, Erikson's journey represents the spirit of discovery and the boldness of Viking exploration.
