My Sydney 2000

Leisel Jones - the 15-year-old dual Olympic medallist at Sydney 2000

Listen Later

At the age of 15, Leisel Jones became the youngest Australian swimming medallist since Shane Gould in 1972, when she took some time away from school to represent her nation at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she would win two silver medals at her debut Games.
Fast forward over a decade, and the four-time Olympian has won nine Olympic medals, including three gold, and is one of the most successful Olympians in Australia's history. She shares her story and relives her debut Olympic Games with Tim Gilbert on My Sydney 2000.
