Lemur research and support for early-career ecologists with Coral Chell

Listen Later

Lemurs, the enchanting primates endemic to Madagascar, are facing unprecedented threats. With approximately 98% of the 110 known lemur species classified as endangered, research on their behaviour and physiology in relation to human disturbance is vital for their conservation.

Meet Coral Chell (pronouns: she/her), a PhD student at the University of Toronto and conservationist who is researching the behaviour and conservation implications for threatened lemur species in Madagascar. In this conversation, she provides valuable insights into her research project as well as the support needed for research students and early-career ecologists in the field.
