Luis Vasquez, a Scholar of Law at the Williams Institute, shares developing research on the discrimination of LGBTQ+ borrowers. His study shows us that LGBTQ+ members experience a 3% to 8% lower approval rate and they are often charged higher interest rates on their mortgages. Yet, there is no evidence that suggests LGBTQ+ borrowers are more risky than heterosexual borrowers.
