2019 marks the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death, and in this episode we discuss why he remains such a key cultural figure around the world, as well as exploring the fascinating insights contained within the pages of the Codex. Having spent several years transcribing the original text and contending with Leonardo’s infamous mirror writing, Professor Kemp is uniquely placed to explain the ways in which the Codex has informed huge swathes of scientific thought and practice in the centuries since its first appearance.
