In 2019 Chicago social worker Anjanette Young was detained by Chicago police officers who entered the wrong apartment. Anjanette has publicly stated that she felt less than human. Although my situation may not have been as severe, I too understand what it is like to be treated as less than human by police officers.
In 2002, I lived in Los Angeles, California where high speed chases and ghetto birds were as common and goth girls with black hair. LAPD officers responded to a false call of a home robbery and I was subjected to similar inhumane treatment as Anjanette Young.
