Everyone wants to know what is going to happen in the future. The Lord has promised that He will always foretell the history of His chosen people Israel. “I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee . . .” (Isaiah 48:5, 1 Nephi 20:5) Where is our history foretold? Where has the Lord prophesied His dealings with modern Israel as he did with ancient Israel?

We have been told that the Book of Mormon was written for our day. The prophets who compiled it were commanded not to place within its pages items that were not of critical worth. Is there something more we may have largely missed? Is the work itself a type and shadow of our day?
