Learn Cook Islands Māori

Lesson 1 - Saying 'See ya'

Listen Later

In this lesson, we learn how to say 'see ya' in the Cook Islands Māori language.

See ya = Ka kite, pronounced: [car, key-teh]

See ya later= Ka kite akonei, pronounced: [car, key-teh, ah-core-neigh]

Ka kite can also literally translate to: 'Will be seen", "They will see", "He/She will see". It really does depend on the context!
