The Prophet Isaiah is one of the most interesting Books of the Old Testament. Unfortunately, we know very little about the person Isaiah (or persons because the Book covers a time period of about 400 years), but we can learn a great deal about Jewish history and religion by listening to this prophet. A “prophet” is a person, or persons, who speaks for God. He does not predict the future unless it is part of his message from God or about God, and Isaiah had a lot to say about “the One who is to come” and this points to many events in the New Testament.
