Lesson 10: Repentance and Forgiveness | Teaching Sabbath School with Purpose

Listen Later

Are you a Sabbath School teacher looking for practical help to teach more effectively?

In this episode of Leader’s Lesson, we focus on Lesson 10: “Repentance and Forgiveness,” part of the Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide for this quarter.

This lesson covers the week of May 30 to June 5 and will be taught in Sabbath School on June 6

This week addresses a deeply personal spiritual question:
What happens when we truly repent, and how does God respond to confessed sin?

Based on key biblical passages, this lesson explores the reality of sin, the work of the Holy Spirit in leading us to repentance, and the grace of God that offers full forgiveness through Christ. Drawing from the story of Israel’s failure with the golden calf and other key biblical examples, this lesson helps teachers show that repentance is more than regret. It is a Spirit-led turning back to God that leads to restoration, cleansing, and a renewed relationship with Him.

In this episode, you will learn:

  •  How to start your class with a strong and engaging introduction
  •  The main spiritual focus of the lesson and how to emphasize it
  •  Key questions to guide meaningful class discussion
  •  The difference between regret, conviction, and real repentance
  •  Practical ways to help your class understand forgiveness, grace, and Christ’s righteousness

Leader’s Lesson is designed to help teachers move beyond simply covering the material and instead lead meaningful, transformative conversations.

Next Step: Listen, take notes, and walk into your class prepared.
